Escape to the beauty of Maine at our peaceful lakefront retreat just a short drive from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. This lovely three bedroom, three bathroom, fully equipped log sided finished home offers  water views, serene privacy, and direct access to the lake all within reach of local attractions.

Wake up to the sound of loons calling across the water and enjoy your morning coffee/tea on the deck. The westward facing position offers beautiful sunsets, after which you can enjoy toasting marshmallows over a fire.

Downtown Ellsworth offers a classic New England Main Street with breakfast and coffee/tea at Flexit, or outstanding burritos at 86This, plus grocery and other stores including an LLBean. Pass multiple stunning ocean views and enter the uniquely vibrant town of Bar Harbor located on the Mount Desert Island coast. Amidst the spectacular views is a lively downtown with shops, restaurants featuring seafood and many other cuisines, and of course ice cream! Highlights include getting on the water aboard a Whale Watch for an unforgettable experience, and walking the Shore Path for the best views of Frenchman’s Bay where boats will weave in and out of the islands. From downtown you can even walk across the ocean at low tide on the Bar Island Trail but don’t be late getting back across!

Acadia national park is referred to as the crown jewel of the Atlantic coast and its beauty is both breathtaking and well preserved. Numerous hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging are available as is swimming in Echo Lake or on Sand Beach. There is a free Island Explorer shuttle that allows access to almost anywhere from downtown to trails and famous sites like Thunder Hole on the loop road. Consider the less populated areas of the island like Southwest and Northeast harbor and explore the gardens within Acadia. Not to be missed are the network of carriage trails that are off limits to cars and offer easy to rigorous hiking and especially biking, with amazing views.  Rentals (including e-bikes) are available in Bar Harbor.
