A family-owned Lake Michigan retreat, perfect for a sabbatical month.
We’re an emergency physician family in Grand Rapids, and we host just a few 30-night stays a year at our lakehouse in Montague, Michigan. No turnover churn, no Saturday checkout urgency. Settle in for a real month on the water, work remotely from the dedicated lakeview workspace if you need to, and let the extended family rotate through. Two households can sign together and share the month. Sleeps 12 overnight, with room for up to 15 day time occupants.
The place. 2,900 sq ft across two walkout levels, 6 bedrooms sleeping 12, 3.5 baths, and a 2,000 sq ft multilevel deck overlooking the water. 100 feet of low-bluff private Lake Michigan beach with kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, swim rafts, bodyboards, beach chairs, and shade canopy included. 8-person hot tub on the upper deck, outdoor ping pong below, pool table and wet bar in the walkout family room, fully stocked chef’s kitchen, and a great room with cathedral ceilings and panoramic lake views. High-speed Wi-Fi throughout.
The setting. Four doors south of quiet Meinert Park, where a full mile of undeveloped shoreline runs north through the Flower Creek Dunes Nature Preserve: endless beach, 200-foot dune climbs, forest trails, and creeks to explore.
The terms. 30-night stays at one flat, all-in price: $24,000 peak summer (check-in June 16 to Aug 7), $18,000 shoulder season (check-in May 15 to June 15, or Aug 8 to Sept 7), and $10,000 off season (check-in Sept 8 to May 14). Cleaning included, no lodging taxes, no platform fees. Two families taking two weeks each pay $12,000 apiece in peak summer. $2,000 booking deposit, $1,000 refundable damage deposit.
