Big Sky offers amazing experiences during every season. With 5850 acres of skiable terrain and an average snowfall of more than 400 inches per year, Big Sky Resort has earned the right to call itself “The Biggest Skiing in America.” Offering 2300 acres of beginner and intermediate terrain, as well as jaw-dropping descents and some of the most aggressive skiing in the world, Big Sky satisfies the needs of all types of skiers. However, this beautiful place offers far more than the opportunity to ski in a stunningly beautiful location – winter season is literally packed with things to do. Ride in a horse-drawn sleigh to your gourmet dinner at a local ranch, or climb aboard a snowcat to access a unique backcountry dining experience in a secretly-located yurt. Spend the day dog sledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or ziplining down the mountain. For less adventurous family members, relax at the Solace Spa, spend the afternoon shopping at the Town Center, enjoy hot cocoa next to a roaring fire, or take an evening walk through the beautiful Enchanted Forest.

During the summer, people continue to appreciate this area for its world class fly-fishing, the award-winning Arnold Palmer golf course, and the many opportunities for whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and diverse hiking experiences. Within the Mountain Village, lifts run all summer and are utilized extensively by mountain biking enthusiasts, as well as those who want to spend the day meandering through the wildflowers and enjoy breathtaking vistas as they casually descend the mountain. The town of Big Sky itself is a vibrant, energetic place in the summer, hosting many local events and fun activities for the whole family. Our proximity to Yellowstone National Park (available for summer or winter tours), the Virginia and Nevada City Gold Rush/Ghost Towns, and the city of Bozeman is ideal for exploring many of the attractions that make this region famous.

Finally, the slower fall and spring seasons should not be disregarded. These periods often appeal to wildlife lovers, photographers, and those looking for solitude, particularly in the context of longer term stays. During those seasons, we commonly see bighorn sheep, moose, deer, and herds of elk. A nearby family of foxes and the occasional black bear have also been known to come by for a visit. Guests visiting during this time typically enjoy fishing in the Gallatin River, exploring the wilderness, soaking in natural hot springs, and getting to know the area in an entirely different way.
