CAPE SAN BLAS AREA INFO:

One of the nicest things about Cape San Blas is that it is secluded. Even during busy season, you will likely have your own spot on the beach rather than the rows of umbrellas and chairs at other beaches. However, fewer people also means that there are fewer restaurants and attractions—the attraction is the beach and the ability to get away from it all. There are some local stores and small restaurants on the Cape, and Port St. Joe is only 20 minutes away and has a greater selection of restaurants and a larger grocery store.

Some area activities to consider:
-Relax on the beach – the sound of those waves is amazing
-Swim and play in the ocean
-Dolphin watching (seen frequently from our deck!)
-Kayak or Paddle board (available from rental companies)
-Private heated, swimming pool
-Fishing
-Beach bonfire (and s’mores of course)
-Star gazing – you’ve probably never seen so many stars if you live in the city!
-T.H. Stone State Park: miles of uninhabited beach, hiking/biking/fishing/bird watching
-Rent a pontoon boat in the Bay for fishing, snorkeling, dolphin watching, or boat to the northern tip of Cape San Blas
-Snorkeling in the Bay: look for puffer fish, stingrays, sea urchins, conch shells, sand dollars, horseshoe crabs
-Horseback riding on the beach
-Take a walk along the shore
-Sea shelling
-Frisbee, kites
-Bocce ball, beach volleyball, badminton
-Sandcastles
-Yard games
-Salinas Park Trail
-Pickleball at Salinas Park
-Bird watching (including Bald Eagles in the Bay)

-8 mile Logger Head Walk/Run/Bike Path. This trail runs from the beginning of Cape San Blas Road to the State Park at the end of the Peninsula. Located just across Cape San Blas Rd, steps from our house.

How to get to the Cape:
-By car: easy regional drive from the midwest, south, and southeast
-By plane:
Panama City (Northwest Florida Beaches International) Airport (ECP): 1.5 hr drive to Cape.
Tallahassee Airport (TLH): 2 hr drive to Cape.
Destin/Ft Walton Beach Airport (VPS): 2.5 hr drive to Cape.

Cape San Blas Weather: there are nice days here every month of the year! Summer is warm, but still enjoyable with the ocean breeze. Winter still has many nice days, with cooler evenings – great for a bonfire!

THINGS TO KNOW:

Pillows, sheets, blankets, and towels are provided.

Toilet paper, trash liners, and dish detergent are provided to cover your first night of stay. Extra supplies beyond this are the responsibility of the guest.

Please note that the coastline is an everchanging structure due to waves, weather, and wind. Therefore, the shore may have a different appearance from day to day.

The WiFi is fast (download speeds up to 600 Mbps) but Cape is a remote area and WiFi could be intermittent at times. Some cell phone carriers may occasionally have patchy coverage here, but most are good. Although water pressure for the Cape can be low at times, we have a water pressure booster pump which is a major advantange compared to other homes on the Cape!

Check-in. You will receive a personalized door code prior to your arrival, which will be valid for your rental dates. We generally cannot offer an early checkin, as our cleaner needs that time to prepare the home.

Checkout. No late checkouts. Our cleaner needs time to prepare the home for the next guest.

NO SMOKING OR VAPING. You will incur an additional charge if any evidence of smoking is found.

Pets. One dog may be allowed, with prior permission from host. Pet fee will apply. Pets must be clean and free of sand prior to return into the home. Pets must not be left alone in the home except if in a secure crate.

NO LARGE PARTIES. Max of 12 guests allowed on the property at all times.

All guests must be 25 years of age or older unless they are accompanied by their parents for the duration of the stay.

For security, the home is equipped with outdoor video surveillance.

The cancellation policy, as described by AirBNB, is in effect upon booking and does not allow refunds or changes to the reservation due to weather. However, if there is an official mandatory evacuation ordered for Cape San Blas, we will refund the reservation for any affected nights. We recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance which offers coverage for cancellation due to illness, weather, or other events that could impact your trip. Travel insurance can be purchased online for reasonable cost, or may be offered by your credit card company.

All guests are required to sign a Rental Agreement.

SIMPLIFIED FEES! We only have a cleaning fee which we pay directly to our wonderful cleaning team, but have no other host fees. There is no fee for heating the pool (free!), no extra guest fee (friends/family all welcome – up to max of 12 total guests)
